Year 2017

Year 2017 - Mothership
A long time ago, (year 2017 to be exact), in a galaxy far, far away (well, not that far) my dad was diagnosed with melanoma. Four months later he lost his life to the diagnosis at just 60 years old. Sad and devastated is an understatement. Despite regular skin checks as an adult, his skin cancer was not detected until it was far too late. One would think, that being a nurse practitioner, I would have been prepared for what the terminal diagnosis would mean for him, but I was not.
Transport to present day. The Mothership took flight in memory of dad, to deliver not only cosmically cute and comfortable swimwear, but also raise awareness about skin cancer and the dangers of prolonged UV exposure.
Do we still bask in the solar rays? You bet. Do we still spend every summer day at the beach? Duh. Have we gone to great lengths to educate ourselves on how to do it safely? Absolutely. Are we passionate about sharing our story with our space girls around the galaxy? More than you know.
We are so glad that you boarded the Mothership, we can't wait to see how far we can spread our light.
Every time Earthlings make a purchase from the Mothership, a donation is made to the Melanoma Research Foundation and Comfort Zone Camp in memory of my dad, and in honor of all my space girls who have grieved the loss of a parent.
